Godrevy

The overnight frost burnt off, revealing a wonderful bright November day. The possibilities were endless: We plumped for the North coast where we expected neat lines of lovely waves to be waiting.
And that's what we found. Consistent 2 foot, with bigger slabs in the frequent larger sets, giving a few long underwater tows. A couple of Atlantic Grey Seals swam past me. Claire snapped the views from the sunny windless beach.
We walked the cliffs at the lighthouse end of the beach and looked at the sleeping colony of seals who make the inaccessible beach there their own.

Nige And Sarah

Nige and Sarah came for the weekend, so after Friday night enjoying hot rum and arty things in Penryn, we set off for Maenporth Beach on Saturday. We walked the coast around to The Helford River on a beautiful warm November day. We recharged at The Ferry Boat Inn, sunning ourselves over mulled cider.

Kynance Cove

After a couple of sedate hours in Helston, one of them in the excellent Museum we headed to the Southern tip of the UK. Kynance Cove was not prepared to reveal it's 'one of the best beaches in The World' as low tide was still a few hours away. However, this wild corner of The Lizard peninsula still looked amazing on a blowy November day. We picnic'd out of the wind, overlooking the treacherous looking seas below.
We called at Mullion Cove on the way back, where workmen were repairing the harbour, while The Atlantic served up crashing winter waves that made their lifeline look optimistic on the 'business' side of the fractured wall.

Grandma Marks

Pam joined us for an explore of Cornish places. We wandered Trelisick Gardens, watched the chain ferry and later surveyed the local beaches.

Evening Walk By The Water

November Beach Weather

We spent a sunny afternoon at the beach: paddling, walking and reading. On the way home we called on Mike and Sharon who run the Rathgowry guesthouse, whom we stayed with in July when we were viewing our (now) home.

Picturesque Port Navas

A bike ride South took me past the nearer beaches and then on through Mawnan Smith, dropping down to pretty Helford Passage. The 25% climb out again required a low gear and a high effort! The road got thinner again as I headed over to Port Navas, a picture perfect place, nestled in an inlet off the Helford River. The route back home was comparatively 'flat'.
