The great wild expanses of Dartmoor always invoke memories of adventures past. With views stretching to the coast, we traversed the heather between granite cliffs and tinkling streams as the wind blew the clouds away, revealing a patchwork quilt landscape dotted with hardy livestock and wild fauna. Back at base, after camping supper, we prepared for our first night under canvas for a decade or so.
