The day dawned clear and Hannah wanted to see our local 'view' in the sunshine: It was perfect

After Hannah and Tom had departed, we did a walk to Loe Beach through Feock. Later, Hannah sent us a picture of her time with Grandma FT.

Boxing Day and Beyond

Hannah and Tom joined us all on Boxing Day for another delicious dinner, followed by naps, games and banter! Next day, we all walked the creek to Malpas on a cold sunny day (while the North  of the UK slipped and gridlocked in the snow). Christmas video

Christmas Day

On a bright sunny Christmas Day, Luke, Pam, Simo and Claud arrived to help us eat the turkey. We walked by the sea before dinner, presents, games and White Christmas. Tremendous.

Porkellis

I joined the 'social' Falmouth Wheelers for a ride in misty rain to Gweek and then on to Helston for coffee (meeting the 'serious' group there). We then headed NE to The Star Inn at Porkellis in the heart of the old Wendron mining district. The pub is also the community library but instead of books we refuelled on pasties, sausages and roast potatoes before heading back.

Durgan

Steve and I muddied our bikes on a jaunt West, snacking at Durgan Beach on a mild and blowy day. Afterwards, Steve used his expertise to tweak the setup on my bike to make my peddling, braking and balance better. You learn something everyday.

Roast Lunch With A View

Tim treated us to a terrific roast dinner at nearby Miss Peapods, where we lunched in the warm, overlooking the rainy estuary. A super weekend all round.

Rowing And Paddling

On a beautiful December morning, Tim joined us for Gig Rowing. After an hour on the water, we rushed home and set up for an afternoon on the paddleboards. We went over to checkout my new office view, passing fishermen, Cormorants, Oyster Catchers and a Heron. In the evening we went to a party locally and later watched shooting stars in the clear Winter skies.

 

Burning Off The Cream Tea

Tim arrived for a few days of food and fun and quickly settled into the cream teas that are generously available in these parts. Suitably fuelled, we burnt off the calories visiting the Southern beaches on our bikes. Tim noticed the lack of flat sections but seemed to enjoy his day out.
