Not Really Lost

Not being quite sure where you are is not necessarily the same as being lost: Tim and I set off on our road bikes for Tewkesbury and then headed West towards Ledbury. Spying a small road South signposted to Redmarley we risked being geographically embarrassed as we ventured into the unknown. We passed through Pendock and other sleepy villages before stopping at Maismore for snacks, overlooking the fast flowing, muddy River Severn. It was then a simple quick blast home on more familiar roads.
With a nice warm evening in prospect, undeterred by the fact that I have recently demolished the barbeque, we sizzled sausages on the chimenea for supper and I stupidly taught Tim 'Pass The Pig', which he then kept winning.

Luke 21

Luke marked his birthday by gathering friends at home after a day at Cotswold Water Park (without his parents). In the evening, after surveying embarrassing pictures from the past 21 years, refreshments and even a short speech followed. We're proud of our 'little' man.

Crantock

A week in Crantock in mid-May served up sun and swell for six days. Arriving on Friday, we headed straight for the beach where the winter storms have set up lovely sand bar breaks that just keep on giving.
On Sunday, Sharon joined us for her first ever visit to Cornwall. We took trips to St Ives, Marazion and Falmouth, fitted in between the daily dose of waves.
A superb week that even the final day's rain could not spoil.

Jazz Festival

We met up with Martin and Judith on a sunny Bank Holiday at the Jazz Festival. In a great atmosphere, we enjoyed fare from the exotic game burger stall (elk, springbok and kangaroo) and tasted the best of the Herefordshire Cider farms, while we listened. We bumped into Hannah and Tom who were savouring the cultural offerings too.

Super Sunday

On slightly less-small 'Super' Sunday, we had a fab fab day. Jerry was sometimes too lazy to carry the paddle and made do with his arms, the old-school way. Luke (above) was too lazy even to go on his board and just let it surf itself, causing an outback trip hazard!
Simo took Wave of the Day, with this waist high monster. While his nephew demonstrated ballet positions:
 There was room for everyone
The girls took selfies in between bacon roll duty
This is what Bank Holiday weekends are made for: We couldn't stop ourselves from smiling :)

Small Saturday

With Eyeball Surf Report hinting at flat calm, broken occasionally by tiny sets, held up by an offshore wind, we risked it and got up early. On arrival we enjoyed luxury first breakfast.
After Simo and I had fully tested the ankle snappers, Luke decided to get changed and join us.
Then it was tricks and hilarity, spins and headstands until our arms ached. Small waves perfectly formed. A beautiful day.
